Basic Ezine Designing Tips.
Choosing the right Ezine name is important. The Ezine name should have some relevance to the ezine topic. As some directories list an ezine in alphabetical order it is advisable to start with a letter "early" in the alphabet, like A instead of S.
Content is the king and providing valuable contents will not only encourage subscribers to read and stay subscribed to your newsletters, it will also help you to build your reputation and gain trust.
Focus your ezine on a subject in which you have lots of knowledge or experience. Although, you can publish other people's articles in your newsletter, your ezine should have some original content, like your own articles, tips and tricks, etc.
Keep your titles and paragraphs short. If possible keep your titles between five to six words and your paragraphs to three sentences. Make sure that you don't have more than 60 characters in a line and that you leave plenty of white space between each paragraph.
Create a schedule and stick to it. Ezine can be published on a daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. Whatever frequency you use, be consistent and don't skip. Subscribers like to read an ezine that is published regularly and on time. Personally I prefer bi-weekly newsletters.
Format - Text Vs Html: As not every email program is equipped to read html emails, it is often a good idea to provide the subscribers with the opportunity to choose their preferred option. Alternatively, to accommodate all your subscribers, you can publish your ezine in text format only, like a normal text email, and include a link to an online html version of your newsletter.
The size of your ezine really depends on you and the type of content and quality of your ezine. Some subscribers prefer short ezines and others, long ezines. However keep in mind that if your ezine is too long, some service providers may convert it into a file attachment. If you ezine is really long, consider splitting it into parts, like Part 1 and Part 2.
Tips to help you when you run out of ideas.
- Write "how to" articles: Writing "how to" articles is one of the most popular and proven methods of writing ezine articles. For example: How to create a traffic explosion? How to attract new customers? How to build your ezine list?
- Suggesting "tips" and "ways": This is another popular method. You can almost create unlimited number of articles using this method. Example: 5 ways to make money from an ezine, 7 ezine content ideas, OR 10 cool ways to attract customers to your site, 10 keys to copy that sells.
- Conduct a survey: Surveying your ezine subscribers for a particular product or service will not only will create interest among your subscribers, but will also give you a fair idea about how many people actually read your newsletters.
- Get other people to review your product: You can publish reviews and/or testimonials of satisfied customers underlining the benefits of products or services you offer. This can create interest in your prospective customers.
- Review other people's product: If you market affiliate products then you can publish your reviews, briefly stating the pro's and con's of these affiliate products.
- Interviewing an expert: By interviewing experts in your field and publishing them, your ezine can gain huge popularity, as subscribers to your newsletters will value the quality content you publish.
