Read about effective Internet Marketing Basics and strategies for
doing business on the internet.
Internet Marketing Definition
Internet Marketing is an all-inclusive term, which basically means doing what ever it takes to make a website sale. It involves in implementing strategies to market a product or service online.
Strategies that include - web site design, creative net writing that encourages site visitors to take action, search engine optimization and search engine submission, reciprocal linking, email marketing – and that’s just tip of the iceberg.
It is certainly a continuous process (probably a never ending one) that requires the drive and determination to learn and invent what really works, implement them and find out how to get a measurable profitable return.
Internet Marketing basics:
Building a website that Sells (Improving Conversion Rate):
1. Good Content: Creating a website packed with information and content is a must. Most surfers are looking for information and if they don’t find what it is they are looking for they will quickly exit. Also keeping in mind that 99 out of 100 visitors don’t buy on their first visit, so providing good content will give them a reason to come back.
2. Effective Headlines: A poor headline can result in 90% loss in sales potential.
3. Creative Writing: Grab your visitors’ attention with creative writing. Don’t make them fall asleep and finally clicking you away.
4. Building trust & relationship: Let your customers know that you care about them and that you deliver your promises.
Creating targeted traffic: You cannot sell anything unless somebody knows that you are selling. So, traffic is one of the single most important things towards your success, and that too targeted, i.e., people specifically looking for what it is that you are selling.
High Search Engine rank is the best possible way to get targeted traffic. Visitor finding your site through search engines are likely to respond more positively because they are in an open frame of mind. High Search Engine rank can be obtained by:
1. Choosing less competitive but high value keyword.
2. Optimizing you web pages, i.e., making them more search engine friendly.
3. A reasonably good Page Rank.
4. Quality Inbound links.
Knowing your competitors: To identify and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of your competitors you must analyze your competitors.
For example:
1. What services are offered by competitors that you don't offer?
2. How does your competitor treat their customers? Is their service prompt and efficient?
3. What equipment does your competitor use that is better than yours?
4. How much advertising does your competitor do each month?
So, getting information about your competitors can give you the leading edge, as it can show you ways in which your company can be unique and can benefit the customer.
Constant monitoring and finding out what works and what doesn’t: Internet marketing is more than simply developing a website and promoting it to search engines. A truly successful Internet marketing strategy is multi-faceted and requires constant monitoring and tuning to keep up with the constant evolution of the Internet.
Monitoring your website traffic and performing in-depth analysis into where your traffic is originating, which marketing programs are producing results and measuring your return on investment and using this analysis to fine-tune your web presence and increase your overall traffic and per visitor revenue.
